Who can apply for a Viet Nam Veterans and their Families Trust grant?

People requesting grants from the Trust must be New Zealand Viet Nam Veterans or family members of a New Zealand Viet Nam Veteran, whether living in New Zealand or elsewhere.

The Trust wants to support those most in need within the Viet Nam Veterans’ community. If you know someone who would benefit from a grant, please encourage them to apply.

The Trustees consider how grants will benefit the lives of Viet Nam Veterans and their families, and make day-to-day life easier, particularly for those who are struggling.

What is the Viet Nam Veterans and their Families Trust priority?

When making grant decisions, the Trustees look for the benefits a grant will make to someone’s life. Priority is given where there is immediate or obvious need.

If you are not sure whether you are able to request a grant, it is better to submit a request, rather than assume you are not eligible. The Trust may be able to direct you to other places for assistance.

Grants are in addition to any other entitlements under the Veterans’ Support Act 2014.
